An old-world spirit, reimagined for the present.
Some pieces feel like a discovery. The kind you might come across at a quiet European flea market, tucked among well-loved objects, and find yourself thinking about long after you leave. The Karnak Vase captures that sense of intrigue in a contemporary piece.
Inspired by ancient Egyptian pottery, its broad, rounded body, narrow neck, and sweeping handle create a sculptural silhouette with a distinctive presence. The generous curve of the handle frames an open space, giving the form a balance of substance and air.
A slip-applied surface brings the inspiration into a different ceramic tradition, pairing the historical form with East Asian influences in texture and color. Soft ivory and warm, earthy undertones lend depth to the finish, while visible surface irregularities invite a closer look.
Place it beside a stack of books, on an entryway console, or on a shelf with room for its silhouette to stand out. A few dried stems can offer a gentle counterpoint to its rounded shape, but it needs very little around it. Displayed on its own, it feels like a small collected treasure.
Not an antique, but a contemporary vase with an old-world sensibility. A thoughtful piece for a home shaped by curiosity, texture, and objects with a story to tell.
